"Lack of Communication or Diagnosis"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital / Accident and emergency

I contracted some kind of "Bug" on a recent visit to India and returned with a bad stomach upset.

In addition, I had fallen over and banged my head whilst in India.

The Doctor that I saw in India suggested I should try and see my GP immediately on my return.

I flew back to Heathrow on the evening of Sunday, 20th August and duly rang my GP's Surgery (Blue Wing, Heart of Hounslow TW3 3LN) in the morning on Monday, 21st August; only to be told that they had no appointments available that day.

Accordingly, not knowing what was wrong with me, I called NHS Direct and after hearing my story and going through my symptoms, they advised me to get over to West-Middlesex Hospital immediately.

I, therefore went to the "Emergency Care Unit" (which appears to have replaced the old-fashioned "A&E")and after Triage and being seen by a Doctor, I was admitted to AEC and I have to admit, they were very thorough in giving me all manner of tests, including ECGs Various Blood Tests and an x-Ray, as well as a CT Scan and made me come back on Friday the 25th for an MRI Scan.

However, at no point was I given any kind of a Diagnosis.

I was seen by the Doctor on the 22nd and (presumably) because there was nothing seriously wrong with me, I was discharged that evening - In fact I was kept waiting till quite late, apparently for some medication to arrive - which never did??

As I say, I attended the MRI Clinic on Friday 25th August and once again, all I was told was that the results would be sent to my GP.

If they have in fact received them or not, I don't know for I have heard nothing from them either.

I am now amazed to receive, today, two separate letters from West Middlesex University Hospital: One addressed "Dear Doctor", but copied to me, signed by a Doctor, saying they have made multiple attempts to contact me -

This is blatantly untrue as I have not received a single message on either my landline or my Mobile phone number. The second letter offers me an appointment on the 19th October for an Electrocardiogram!

Can you appreciate how frustrating this entire experience has been - I am still without a diagnosis of what if anything is wrong with me...
