I had a knee replacement on the 18th of September 2017, and the surgery and the care I received afterwards were both outstanding.
This was my second knee replacement (the first was 6 months ago), and I feel that it was even more successful than the first. The pain level is less and I believe that my recovery will be faster and better than with the previous knee. Thank you to the surgeon and to the theatre staff. They did a wonderful job.
The nursing staff in the ward where I spent a day recovering were absolutely first class. They could not have been more professional and competent, but at the same time they were friendly and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and even at the end of a long shift they were cheerful and supportive to the patients. My admiration for them is only matched by my gratitude for the fantastic job they are doing every day.
Torbay hospital should be very proud of its staff. They are a credit to the hospital and to the NHS and i will never forget the way in which they took care of me. Superb people!
