"Thank you Paramedics and Paediatric ED"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

When my 2 year old daughter stopped breathing at night. Although I managed to get it started again I still called 999. The telephone operator was very helpful and calm and the ambulance arrived in 11minutes with two very nice paramedics who assured me I had done the right thing calling them. They took us to paediatric ED to have her fully checked out and treated. I was informed of our handover to ED team by our paramedic before they left, so I knew exactly what was happening. The ED nurse came and introduced themself and reviewed my daughter quickly and efficiently, provisionally diagnosing her and arranging for a review and the correct medication to be provided. The doctor who then reviewed her was friendly and made her feel happy and safe. I would like to thank the team for the efficiency, smiles, laughter, orange juice (when I found that pesky water cooler) horrible medicine and bubbles.

From begining to end an excellent service. Thank you.

Thank you very much for leaving such lovely feedback on what must have been such a worrying time. I am extremely glad to hear of the great experience you have received from both the ambulance service and whilst in our hospital’s care. I have passed your feedback onto the team and they all send their thanks and well wishes for the future.

Warm regards,

Jane Newton, Matron, Accident and Emergency
