"MOHS surgery to remove cancer"

About: St Helens Hospital / Dermatology

In early June, I had an operation on my ear under the MOHS procedure to remove a cancer. I was fortunate in that the whole cancer was removed at the first go. I was given a supply of dressings which my wife was able to use every day. After three weeks I dispensed with covering the sight of the operation with a dressing, a scab formed and after a couple of weeks it fell away to leave a clean sight.

All the staff I met could not have been more caring, there was no pain with the operation and no blood.
