"Appointment changes, lack of written and oral..."

About: St Bartholomew's Hospital

I have recently been referred from a Moorfields for surveillance of my liver post radiotherapy to my eye. I received an appointment for an ultrasound , duly went and had it .The sonographer was very pleasant.

I waited and waited for the results -3 weeks in all and eventually managed to contact the CNS for the results and was told they don't send out letters of results.I had worried for 3 weeks hoping to get a letter to tell me all was well or not.

I then got an appointment for my first outpatient meeting with the Barts oncology team to have it cancelled 2 working days beforehand. I was offered another appointment and said i could not make that date but despite this got a letter today with that date being offered!

I was also to be seen by to another doctor not the original doctor who I was referred to in the first place who I was not sure had an interest in my condition. All in all very confusing! I have asked my gp if I can be see my local oncology team and hope they can stay with one docto/ one appointment! This is anxiety inducing being shuttled around like a condition not a person when you have cancer! Communication could be greatly improved.
