Was given a two week appointment by my GP - due to continuing skin issues on my scalp and a couple of solar keratoses on my forehead. I was offered a Sunday appointment - and, as I was working at the time, thought this would be a good idea.
However on the day I was not impressed by the treatment I received from the doctor on duty - I am not sure if they were a regular member of the team - or someone drafted in to cover on a Sunday so you could meet your two week appointment targets. They did not examine me other than a brief look at my scalp, or ask me any questions about the condition. They proceeded to use liquid nitrogen on my scalp - without consulting me first, and then said they would prescribe some cream to deal with the keratoses on the scalp and that I should apply it when the scalp had healed - twice a day,
They did not give any advice on the cream treatment and how long it should last or what I might expect. I could not get the cream on the day - being a Sunday the hospital pharmacy was closed.
I was not impressed by the standard of the doctor's communication.Since then I have had issues using the cream and need to go back to my GP for further advice.
