"What a Nightmare !"

About: The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was admitted to the Coleman Ward mid August.

Very busy and noisy ward with lots of staff.

Everyone very friendly, surgery went well.

Visiting times were a nightmare !

Bed next to me had visitors at 6.50am - yes - 10 mins to 7 in the morning and they came and went until turned 10pm !

Next day they had 5 visitors around the bed all afternoon. Not the only bed with too many loud visitors.

There are signs up stating only 2 visitors per bed and for visitors to leave at 8pm. but no one takes any notice of them

We even had a visitor walking around the ward when the lights were out and past 10pm !

Visitors are tiring - especially other peoples.

This is a surgical ward and people need rest.

Bring back Matrons onto the wards to instil some discipline and security.

Very disappointing considering this is supposed one of the best orthopaedic hospitals.
