"CT scan department - left a lot to be desired"

About: North Manchester General Hospital

the staff were friendly and patient but all this good work is undone by the waiting system.

On arrival you are asked to get changed into a gown (depending on which part of body they are scanning) you get given a shopping basket for your belongings and clothing and then have to sit in a corridor style waiting area.

you are advised to leave shoes and socks on.

not only are you cold but embarrassed by the lack of privacy and dignity!

you then have to sit in the waiting area, drink water and are asked to have a cannula inserted into your arm.

you are in and out of rooms and waiting areas before finally having your scan and being monitored before discharge.

the waiting systems and sitting in a gown need looking at - you should advise patients to bring alternative footwear or dressing gowns or provide a private room or cubicle for them to wait in - out of view of everyone.

no results given either which is distressing for those being scanned for things such as cancer! a week ago and still waiting results.

whilst visiting I used the toilets near the GP centre and they were frankly disgusting

went in one cubicle and left as there were faeces on the seat!! went to use the other one and no loo roll.

went to dry my hands and no paper towels.

not good enough.
