"Pediatric A&E overnight : heavily understaffed..."

About: St George's Hospital (Tooting) / Accident and emergency

Took our 1yr old son with eye infection and heavy bronchitis symptoms there; triage not interested to hear about symptoms; waited 2:30hrs for nothing... they had only one Dr ... this is not serious...

We are sorry to hear about your experience whilst attending St George’s Hospital, Children and Young People’s Emergency Department. We work very hard to ensure that attending patients are seen and treated as quickly as possible. Our staff, are here to ensure that all patients are listened to and apologise that you did not experience when raising the symptoms your baby presented. If you would like to discuss your concerns I can be contact by email; elaine.bucknor@stgeorges.nhs.uk.

Due to high demands on our service, and the high levels of patient that do require immediate attention, there can be times when people have to wait longer than expected.

I trust that your son has since made a full recovery.

Your feedback is important to us and has been raised with the relevant Service Manager to support learning and service improvement within the Children and Young People’s Emergency Department.

Kind Regards

Elaine Bucknor

Patient Advice and Liaison Service Manager
