"Extremely happy and grateful for the care I..."

About: Kettering General Hospital / General surgery

I received great care before and after undergoing a bunionectomy within the treatment centre. All staff who interacted with me were genuinely caring and put my feelings first, they made sure I had all the information necessary before during and after my procedure. Everything ran so smoothly due to communication between all the different teams dealing with my care, for example from the nurses on the day ward to the aneasthitist to the physiotherapist everything was in place and ready for my procedure with barely any waiting time. Reassurance was given by various members of staff as being young and having a nervous look on my face they tried to make feel as comfortable as I could, especially the anaesthetist who came and found me after the procedure to ask if I was okay and to tell me everything went really well. All the staff were happy to answer any questions I had and even though they were busy made me feel like nothing was too much. The only thing I would say needs improvement to respect privacy of other patients would be for the surgeons to discuss procedures more quietly as I knew what all the other ladies on the ward were having done that day and as this doesn't bother me I can understand some patients may not like their personal cases being heard across the ward. Carrying on my care within the frank radcliffe clinic after my procedure was just as professional, if there were any delays I was informed on arrival however I was seen with minimal waiting time by friendly, helpful and informative staff.

Thankyou to all the staff for the care I recieved, I am so grateful.
