"Amazing! Angels!"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) / Maternity care

I am so happy I decided to go to this hospital, even though it is an old hospital in desperate need of a facelift; because all the personnel in antenatal, maternity ward, delivery room and postnatal wards were more than amazing with us.

My baby was born the 8th of April of 2017 but I was admitted to the hospital the 6th and all the nurses, midwives, doctors and chief midwives were absolutely professional and very kind.

Kindly pass my our deepest thank you to all the teams in the antenatal, maternity ward, delivery room and postnatal wards teams (doctors/midwives/etc) that were in service from the 6th to the 11th of April 2017.

But a special mention with my warmest regards the Midwives’ Chief-Sister for the maternity ward at night, because they took such a good care of me with another midwife all night long but specially for their human touch that could see right through to my soul.

The midwife approached me early in the morning of the 7th before going home to tell me “all will be alright dear, you’re a good strong girl, God bless you. You will be alright” while taking my hands into their's.

My mom was a nurse and having lost her recently that gesture and words brought her back to me as I needed to keep going. The midwife brought peace to my soul to continue without even knowing.

Well, I kept looking for them after the delivery to thank them personally and couldn’t find them but left the same message with their colleagues before leaving but I really really want you to pass it for me again! This gesture was amazing and was just God’s sent!!

Therefore, please again; give our warm regards and thanks especially to:

The midwives who took the most wonderful care of me without leaving us alone one single second and guiding us through all this in the labor guard until my baby was born.

All the team in the postnatal rooms

The antenatal Clinic for taking an amazing care of us.

I apologize it took me this long to get the review but please tell the “wonderful team I’ve mentioned” we’re grateful for all they did for us.

The only recommendations we’d like to make (only negative points of this experience) are:

For the dads/partners/companions it would be more than beneficial (physically and emotionally) to have showers and more comfortable chairs for dads or facilities to sleep next to bed. My husband stayed the whole time in one simple chair day and night and couldn’t even take a shower and wouldn’t dare to leave me for a shower and couldn’t take one (wasn’t allowed) in the showers there for “patients”.

Also availability of private rooms (even for a fee) from admission to discharge could be a nice improvement to the service and quality of hospital.

Thank you!

I.Araceli Cortes Z.
