I attended Sandwell hospital following a fall on 17th August.
From the first visit I have received the worst care possible - I was shouted at by the receptionist as I had followed the directions given by the Doctor and gone to the fracture clinic - this apparently isn't the way you are dealt with there - you have to make an appointment sometimes a week after the incident to be accessed again so I was left with a temporary splint for 7 days in agony and with severe bruising - I returned four days later when I was given my first x-ray this showed a possible fracture - anyway to cut a long saga short I attended A&E on 31st August as I had a reaction to the antibiotics prescribed - I was seen by the triage nurse and I explained what had happened, they said wait outside to see the Doctor so I did as instructed I waited - 3 hours later I returned back to the reception area as people were walking in after me with minor ailments and they were being called through - they checked and informed me that unbeknown to me they had decided that I should have been sent to the walkin centre nearby - to say I was angry was an understatement- reception were great they got the nurse to apologise and made sure I was seen by Doctor next - i only went back there as the fracture clinic doctor had told me to and assured me that I would be taken care of - never again !
