"Big thumbs up to everyone"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73)

(as the patient),

Our little boy was born in the morning  The labour ward was very busy and apart from a wait to get into a theatre/have a doctor we would never have known. The midwife was wonderful, calming, caring and made us feel at ease, she didn't leave me the whole time from being admitted till when I was taken to theatre. When taken to theatre for stitches the anisthetist was lovely. She really calmed me down and all the ladies in the room were great making me so relaxed.

Up on was 68 I was looked after amazingly by the team of midwives. Alison mainly sticks out in my mind. She was bubbly friendly and seemed to stretch herself to help

Everyone. Even the auxiliaries and cleaning team were lovely. Big thumbs up to everyone. You made my 5day stay a little more bearable: )

Dear HKOKEK

Many congratulations on the birth of your son.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on this site.

It is very important that staff are aware of the difference they make and I am very pleased that you felt supported and cared for by the entire team at the Princess Royal Maternity.

As you highlight, our departments can be extremely busy but your feedback shows the extent of patient focused care which the teams strive to provide at all times.

We have passed your feedback on to the Lead Clinician, Lead Midwife and the Senior Charge Midwives for Labour Ward and Ward 68 and they will share with Alison and all the staff in those areas.

I know they will be delighted to hear what a difference they made to you whilst you were in their care.

I hope you are recovering well at home and that you and your baby son are doing well.

Best wishes

Pam
