"Maternity services"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Maternity

I gave birth to my daughter in July 17 in the maternity unit at CHS. I found the complete care we recieved - antenatal, delivery and postnatal - was excellent. The staff were very caring and fully explained what was happening and I felt fully involved in any decisions about our care. Antenatal care was excellent with additional scans because I was an older mum which was very reassuring. Pain relief during delivery was very quickly provided once requested - I had an epidural and the anaesthetist arrived within 5 mins of requesting an epidural.

Postnatal care was again excellent as we needed to attend the neonatal unit as an outpatient for assessment and advice. Could not rate the care we recieved highly enough.

Thank you to all involved in our care.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments and congratulations on the birth of your baby. It's really important to us that you feel involved in your care, especially at such a special time. I will pass your comments to the team who I am sure will be delighted.
