"2011 Baby"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Maternity

Hi i gave birth to my second child a son in 2011 at Darent Valley hospital and the experience was the worst i have ever come across. Midwives dont listen and have no respect for you. After birth i could wee i needed a catherter i begged and begged for one. The midwives felt my bladder said it didnt feel full. Told me to have a soak etc etc. When i was in agony on the floor they finally agreed to give me the catherter. The nurse came in with a tiny bowl. Once they put the catheter in urine just flowed and flowed a whold jug which they had to get was full. No apology nothing. Worst care ever will never give birth here rather die in agony on the streets. Visited this hospital in 2011 still very distraught and angry from my experience surely someone should contact me and say sorry.

Dear 2011Baby

We were very concerned to read your review and to see how unhappy you were with your care at Darent Valley Hospital in 2011. However, as you are referring to an experience 7 years ago, it is a little difficult to answer the concerns you have raised other than to say we are sorry that your experience was not a positive one.

Hopefully at the time you did raise your concerns with the staff. Also you have stated that you would rather give birth in the streets than come to us, if you do find yourself in this predicament please can we advise that, if you do not wish to use our maternity services, that you do use one of our neighbouring hospitals.

Thank you
