Cumbria Local Involvement Network is an independent body set up by government to ensure that local people are involved in reviewing and developing NHS and Social Care services, pleased to hear your views we will be taking them up with other similar ones in our work with NHS Managers. With regard to your comments about Yewdale Ward we would like to let you know that Cumbria LINk, on behalf of the West Cumbria Community, has been raising the need to continue Mental Health In Patient services in West Cumbria, as agreed in the formal consultations of 2008, through out the development of plans for the rebuilding of West Cumberland Hospital. Without a positive response form the NHS until the last few weeks. Our action is taking forward the clear wishes of the West Cumbria community. At our meeting on 28 July jointly run by Cumbria LINk and Cumbria Mental Health Group, the Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust said they were hopeful that a solution could be found on the West Cumberland Hospital site and that a temporary move to Carlisle would only be as a last resort.
