I had chest pain at the weekend. Passed it off as indigestion, which I have had before.
Mentioned it in passing to a colleague who suggested investigating it further.
Unfortunately high levels of one test suggested acute coronary problems.
After that I was admitted to CCU at the Northern General. The care from start to finish was outstanding. Everyone that I came into contact with was professional and knowledgeable. In addition to this, they were friendly and approachable.
I required a procedure as I had suffered with a small heart attack.
Again the team was first class. The consultant was very reassuring and the whole Catherine lab team very friendly, making the procedure less stressful than I anticipated.
A night on the ward after- again well cared for.
Visit by a number of people to set up my rehabilitation, explain the procedure and medications again and generally reassure me.
The whole experience, while frightening because of the problem, was managed superbly by the team(s) involved in my care.
I couldn’t have asked for better care.
Should also say that the food choices and quality of food was great. I say this as an extra as hospital food gets a bad review usually. Not so for the meals I had. Hot and cold all tasted great. Particularly happy with the vegetarian options with Quorn!
Thanks to all of you.
"Outstanding service."
