"Staff"

About: City Hospital / Older people's healthcare

From a personal experience I would like to express the attitude of staff, they are so rude and really treat the patient with no respect if they don't want to the job there are plenty of people out there who will happily to that job. I really feel let down by the ward. It needs to be investigated and needs to stop. So abrupt with their words telling patients off if they couldn't make to the toilet theses patients are old it breaks my heart especially when it's one of your parents. when Patients has limited mobility and it clearly states on their record these staff expect the patient to get up and walk quite a distance to the toilet and if they can't they refuse to provide a commode its disgusting. Food is left in front of them expecting these patients to feed them selfs.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. I am sorry that you found the staff abrupt and unhelpful. This is not the kind of care that we would expect from staff at our Trust. We would like to investigate your concerns further. Please could you call Deborah Fretwell, matron for geriatric medicine, on 0121 507 2698, or email her at Deborah.fretwell@nhs.net, who will speak to you in more detail about the experience. Kind regards, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
