"My father"

About: Morriston Hospital

(as a carer),

My father received some of the worst end of life care I have ever seen. Being orally fed when the risks of pneumonia and aspiration were extremely high and inevitable, to being left to die, we felt given no chance to live. We had to insist that he needed to be on a drip to remain hydrated in his final day - to at least give him a chance. The doctor openly spoke about how he would die in front of him. Prior to a mishap with his feeding tube and being orally fed - he was fine, stats were normal and was on the lengthy road of returning home. I feel let down by the hospital for the disgusting way they left my father in his final few days. We feel that he was not given a chance to live.
