"Day case surgery"

About: Sidmouth Community Hospital

(as a service user),

I had a knee arthroscopy at this unit under the care of Mr Philips.

I would like to praise the care given to me by the whole of the team

From the theatre nurse who admitted me to the team in the anesthetic room who often do not get any praise for their skills. The nurse, ODP and anethnatist were so reasuring. My after care in recovery was excellent. Day case surgery is so much better when it can be provided and my experience at this unit was outstanding.

My only criticism of this hospital is the lack of parking for patients and relatives if there was some way of revising this aspect then it would make services even better.

The information prior to admission given to me was a little different from the instructions given to me at my pre op assment this could cause confusion.

The response from the RDE is very positive and it's nice to know that comments made about the service are taken on board .

The small issues I raised about patient information could easily be rectified just by ensuring that all information is accurate re fasting for surgery . I'm in the fortunate situation to have some knowledge so I was not confused .

Thank you for your reply.
