"Heatherwood Hospital Ward 4"

My husband has recently undergone a THR at Heatherwood Hospital. We both are amazed at the level of service from the initial appointment at St Marks Hospital on 20th June quickly followed by a letter with an appointment for pre-op assessment on 21st July and then the operation date on 24th August..Admittedly, my husband is normally very active playing sport and leaping around on our canal boat despite being 78 years of age!

All this had been curtailed by the hip problem. The surgeon was charming and very reassuring when they spoke to my husband on the morning of the operation and the attention he received on Ward 4 was second to none. The really noticeable thing was the very happy atmosphere on the ward amongst the staff.

There is so much bad press about the parless state of the NHS but Heatherwood Hospital seems to definitely be bucking that trend.
