"Swinley Ward"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

I was admitted to Swinley on a Monday evening and left Saturday afternoon. The staff on this ward are amazing. I was in with an ectopic pregnancy. The surgeons, anesthetist, nurses, doctors, all were so caring and listened to me and my husband when we asked multiple questions over and over. They allowed us an extra day to see if my pregnancy would be 'normal' knowing we were distraught at were happening but all the time keeping my health at the forefront on their minds.

The beds were change daily, ward cleaned thoroughly daily. Patients who couldn't wash themselves were washed/showered daily.

When I went in for blood follow ups they all remembered me and treated with me the upmost respect and empathy.

It still shocks/pleases me that we have this amazing service free. We are very lucky.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience on Swinley Ward and your kind words in respect of the treatment and care you received there. It was pleasing to note that the whole journey was clearly communicated to you and that you felt safe and in caring hands. I will ensure that your posting is brought to the attention of the Head of Nursing, Clinical Director, and Facilities Manager to share with the staff.
