"Visiting hours"

About: Southmead Hospital / Maternity care

Unhappy that when there is 5 minutes left you refuse some to come in and see their granddaughter for one second, he would have been in and out by the time you allow and then tell me I have to ask the midwifes in my ward who then tell me I have to ask a different midwife, after all the running around you say no because it's gone visiting time even though it wasn't when I started my run around. Ridiculous

Dear Anonymous,

Please accept our sincere apologies that your parents were refused to be allowed to come in to see their granddaughter, and for any upset that this caused for you all.

Clearly, we would not want anyone to feel unwanted, especially at this special time for your family.

We are very sorry that this happened, and marred your special time.

Yours sincerely, Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
