"The taking of blood?"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Clinical haematology

Judging by the dreadful bruise on my arm a week after the procedure, the Phlebotomist is incompetent in the job.

Never have I had such a dreadful bruise - my friends thought my husband had been knocking me about.

I told them not to use the particular vein they took but they took no notice of me - thus resulting in a very painful arm for the last week.

A week before that I had had blood taken at my GPs with no mark left as to where the nurse had taken it.

This is the last time that the QE practice their blood letting on me - need blood I'll go to my GP in future!

Some of your staff need retraining - get it done now or get them out and let someone who is competent take their place!
