"I felt upset"

About: Orsett Hospital

(as a service user),

I went to the unit as I had a sprained ankle.

Waiting time was quite long and it did not help that the time of day was lunchtime so staff were coordinating breaks for themselves.

I waited 90 minutes to see a triage nurse, in my opinion, they were very dismissive of my condition and not helpful in answering my questions.

I felt upset at my treatment at the unit because no advice was given apart from avoiding driving (I have to drive for my own job within the NHS) to rest and elevate the ankle and that it would take up to 3 weeks to heal.

No support was provided for the injury e. g a bandage or tubi grip and I was told I would need to pay for these myself from the chemist, which was why I had taken time out of my working day to attend the department.
