"Life savers with care, flair and super..."

About: Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Trust HQ

I was transferred from Birmingham as they could not accommodate me with a very acute condition. From the moment I arrived in the ambulance the team greeted me. They were warm, professional and listened to my concerns.

I immediately felt in safe hands.

The consultant lead a multidisciplinary team and they fought for my life. I had an aneurysm needed a bypass, and a new heart valve.

I also experienced a stroke. I seriously owe my life to the scale of many professionals in this hospital. I do not believe I could have expected or received better help anyway. I was not an easy case

The doctors who cared for me into intensive care of the nurses that monitored me with so attentive and worked hard to stabilise me. The care and reassurance, during a very scary time showed a deep respect for people.

The physios and occupational health teams attended me every day encouraged and helped me. When I was finally able to eat even the kitchen staff were bright and encouraging

True service with a smile even when you have no appetite

By the way they're home-made soup was delicious.

I cannot fault this hospital on any level. I can totally recommend this place of healing if you are in need of excellent care. You will feel Safe.

Now six months on from my surgery, I am still recovering and have to have a further operation for another aneurysm and this time into Birmingham hospital. I would like to believe that my care would be equal but I don't think there's anything can be as good as the consultant and their team. Thank you
