"Awful inpatient sevice"

My child was admitted to Littlewood house hall, as an emergency after attempting to take their life. Through their admission it remained clear that they were still extremely suicidal, and was struggling with self harm. The unit claim that they did not accept there ideas of distractions and alternatives. On numerous occasions my child was told to nip it in the bud, before it escalated, no one valued my child's opinion. On some occasions my child was that desperate for help, they self harmed, one occasion lead to 12 hours on 1:1.

This left my child feeling disheartened and like things would never get better.

As for the involvement in decisions, we were not involved. We had a second CPA, which my childs care plan said was to plan a discharge, which we thought was reasonable. However 16 hours before the CPA my child was told they would be discharged the next day.

Again left feeling hopeless and neglected, they cried themselves to sleep, ignoring the staff member who wanted to talk to them, as they felt no one really cared.

When we went into the CPA they discharged my child.

My child was discharged in a worse state than admitted. But we thought it was highly unfair, that they were inform of discharge on 16 hours prior to being discharged, as previous people were given their discharged date a month before. My child has issues where they struggle to cope, without a plan, so for this to have happened, it caused severe distress for my child.

I would never willingly send my child back here, nor recommend it to any of my friends with children in a similar position.
