"Aftercare after losing a baby"

About: Victoria Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I lost my daughter at 5 days old in Victoria hospital special care baby unit. After a normal pregnancy, and a complicated birth she was born with breathing problems and brain damage, doctor said it was HIE, her post-mortem was inconclusive with a few signs pointing to hydrops, since then we got no aftercare, no follow up, no real explanation as to why she was ill or died. We have been left in the dark, 2 years later we still have un answered questions. We have been majorly let down in the after care of our daughters death.
