"Waste of an appointment"

I see a doctor on 10th april to see if it was possible to operate on my thumb, the doctor was brilliant l had an xray done then referred me for an MRI to check everything, l then had the follow up appointment today, 21st august, l see a different doctor that said I needed to go and speak to the lead consultant, they then came back and said they only specialise in shoulders? And that the previoys doctor l had seen had left and ld have to be referred to somewhere else? It was an absolute waste of time me going there today and a waste of an appointment that someone with a shoulder problem couldve had! I dont even know what referral l have to wait for?
