"Pre natal care"

About: St Thomas' Hospital / Maternity care

I'm so surprised at some of the reviews. The care I've had from St Thomas has been nothing short of excellent.

I had a missed miscarriage in September 2016 and the EPU were so kind and patient and spent most of the day with me helping me decide the best way to complete the miscarriage. I had a D&C arranged for two days later. Yes there was a lot of waiting around with other patients and some of the team were maybe clinical but that's because they deal with all sorts on the general surgical ward. Whenever anyone was told why I was there they were overwhelmingly kind.

With my second pregnancy all appointments have been prompt and the care excellent. When I raised issues of pre natal depression I was immediately referred for additional support. I've had all options explained fully to me. When I was worried about reduced movements and on another occasion leaking fluid I was seen within the hour and had full checks and reassurance.

When my c section was booked in too early (an error by a more junior doctor) they went out of their way to put it right.

So I guess I'm saying it's not perfect. But nothing is in this world particularly with the cuts the NHS have. And despite all those pressure I cannot fault St thomas' for the care I've received and would not hesitate to recommend.

I'll review the post natal support post c section but wanted to share my experience to date.
