On the build up to my due date i had to go into QA a few times for monitoring, although i had to wait for hours and hours each time all the staff were lovely, welcoming, tried to keep in the loop of what was going on.
when i went in to be induced the staff were lovely, explained what would happen, made sure i understood and was comfortable.
Baby's BP was high in waves so i was moved to a private room and monitored constantly whilst being kept informed and comfortable, was seen by the doctor on duty and the aneasthetist who were amazing when i was advised to go for C-Section.... if it wasnt for the anesthetist then i would of been an absolute wreck, but they kept me calm, explained everything to me, went through every step clearly and was a real support.
As soon as baby was out, he was cleaned up, Dad was able to cut the cord and baby was placed on my chest for us to bond while i was stitched up. I was worried we would of been seperated but at no point was a away from my baby.
the care afterwards was brilliant, if i wanted or needed anything i could just ring thr bell and someone would be there and were always happy to help.
The support i got for breastfeeding was phenomenal, i had no idea there was so much help out there - the breatfeeding support workers were brilliant, it felt as if they had all the time in the world for you.
so overall, i am incredibly happy with this unit, it wasnt my first choice for this baby but it certainly will be for my next baby if we are lucky enough to have a second.
Thank you QA xx
"staff were all amazing"
