"The worst experience in my life"

About: King's Mill Hospital / Maternity care

In October we have found out that we are having a baby. We were very happy, unfortunately in 8 weeks when we were referred to go to Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan because of pain. There we were told that our baby is not growing and there is no heartbeat. As it was early stage of pregnancy we were told that we will need a blood tests to check my pregnancy levels. These must be done twice over 2 days. Only women that went thru same thing can understand what does it mean to have to wait 2 days to find out what's going on with her baby. Nurses attitude was so insensitive, they have lost my blood sample which I haven't been informed (they had mu phone number) about till I came over to get results. So I had to wait 2 more days. After numerous of tests, doctors from ward 14 have decided about laparoscopy as they thought it was an ectopic pregnancy. After I woke up, I have been told that pregnancy is in the womb and I will have to come back in 2 weeks for more tests. Yes, that's right. They have done surgery for nothing. I came back home in pain, upset, with information that my baby is still there and note that in case of pain I am ok to take Ibuprofen! Why have they left me with the hope for 2 more weeks if they knew I am not going to carry on woth the pregnancy? Unless they didn't know that but told me to take Ibuprofen, which is not recommended in pregnancy, anyway. Hospital staff made it as much traumatic for me as they could. Including making me wait for every stupid thing for ages while I was sat around happy expecting women knowing that I am going to loose my baby. Even when they have made decision to terminate my pregnancy they have made me wait 4 days like they could not just give me these tablets there and then. I was at home for 4 days waiting to go back and loose my baby. So all I have experienced there is disrespect, misdiagnosis and trauma.
