I just wanted to say a very big thank you to all of staff that had a hand in my care last Sunday (13/8) between 10 ish to 5.30 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, largely A & E.
From the paramedics who made me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry and explained everything that was going on, and what would happen next. Thanks guys.
At hospital, a nurse who was trying to take my blood and my silly veins wouldn't have it, we shared fashion related injuries and they ensured my dignity remained intact when I needed the loo, but couldn't walk there myself.
Bless you.
Thanks to the person in x ray, so gentle and caring, as was the Dr that stitched up my elbow and talked me into a tetanus injection.
The person that did the injection was patient, but no nonsense - just what was needed when I was being a bit dramatic (sorry).
Thanks to a member of staff who was very considerate when I needed the loo again, and also the lovely nurse who helped me get my oxygen levels up to the required 96.
:)
A 2nd opinion was needed re my x-ray results - enter a doctor who was very caring, kept me updated, funny and very thorough.
The hospital porter that had to cart me around - everything was done with a kind word and a smile.
There are others I came into contact with that were equally amazing, but I did not get their names.
I write this requesting that the CEO (is there such a thing?) or the equivalent, gets to know what a smashing, professional group of people you have there - please may you do that on my behalf, and please let them know I was very scared on Sunday and they, along with a very good friend of mine, help me through it.
