"Long waits and information not passed correctly"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Neurology

I was initially referred to the neurology department at the beginning of January 2017 for a diagnosis on a patch of presumed nerve damage on my scalp/glandular swelling following a virus a few months previously. I saw the consultant in February who requested an MRI, ultrasound and blood tests. I visited the Royal Hallamshire mid May to undergo the tests, the hospital its self was generally clean albeit tired looking. Upon my arrival I was asked whether I knew what kind of blood tests I was due to have as the information had not been passed on, the nurse said they would try to find out whilst I underwent other tests. I was taken to the ultrasound by a porter who insisted I used a wheel chair despite having no mobility problems/issues that required this which in my opinion felt very degrading (there were plenty of other able bodied people allowed to walk). MRI and ultrasound fine, nice staff who explained everything well etc. Returned to neurology to find that the nurse couldn't get hold of my consultant and sent me home to have blood tests with GP within a week. Called consultants office two weeks later, said they would chase it up, called again two months later to be told they were very busy (which I fully appreciate) and would be contacted accordingly. I'm still waiting for the results or indeed the blood tests to be able to finish my tests, with no further communication. I'm hoping there is nothing seriously wrong and would be concerned to be referred to this hospital if I had a condition that time was of the essence!
