"Wonderful care"

About: Cumberland Infirmary / Accident and emergency

I went to a&e for a self harm injury and mentally was not ok. Had been in about 4/5 weeks prior to this in crisis. Both times I've been treated with respect and like a human. At other hospitals I've not been treated this way due to the nature of my injuries. I was treated very well by a triage nurse who swiftly enabled me to have contact with the crisis team, provided me with a quieter place to sit than the busy, waiting room which was rather agitating for me, I am very happy with the way it was dealt with and how well I was cared for. Despite what I've read about this hospital, I think they are all amazing. Would definitely go back if I ever need to.

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this positive comment on NHS Choices.

I am pleased that the staff were able to help you with the swift contact to the crisis team. It is also pleasing to hear that they found you a quiet and safe place to wait because you felt agitated by the busy waiting room.

The teams work very hard to ensure that everyone is comfortable and put at ease.

Your comments will be passed to the department as I am sure that they will be delighted to hear such complimentary feedback.

I do hope that you are feeling much better.

Best wishes

Alison S-D
