"Everything I hoped for"

I was so lucky to be able to give birth to my first baby boy here in October 2016. I had presumed my birth plan would go out the window and I would have to go to hospital but I ended up having the birth I wanted at the new forest birth centre. The midwives and staff were so lovely to me and to my partner and the setting is beautiful! It did take a while to get to grips with the breastfeeding but the midwives were all so helpful and knowledgeable, I don't know what we would have done without them! I wanted to go home on the second day and was really upset that I was advised to stay another night but my goodness I'm so pleased we stayed! My baby did not let me put him down and wanted to sleep on us/feed all night!!! We were exhausted but the lovely staff explained this was very normal behaviour for the second night and offered to cuddle him for us so we could get some sleep! So so so grateful for the support and help.

Also the food is so much nicer than hospital food!

I can't recommend the birth centre enough and I hope one day to return for baby number 2!
