My granddaughter was staying in the maternity ward after having her 1st child. She had undergone a c section so movement was limited. After we left her when visiting hours was over my granddaughter asked for me to place the baby in her arms as she couldn't move to well and was concerned about feeding.
After a while my granddaughter wanted to place her baby into the cot, but could not move. She called the nurse expecting a helpful hand only to be told "You have to learn, you will have to do it yourself"
Had I had known I would have reported this there and then. My granddaughter received an awful hospital experience and I am furious that a nurse spoke to a new mother like this. What has happened to loving care and attention a new mother and baby should receive.
After care? That has been very limited also.
I must mention the total opposite my husband recently received in the cardiac unit. Staff were amazing and staff went over and above to deliver fantastic care.
Please may I have response.
Thank you
"Do it yourself!"
