admitted for gallbladder surgery. I have a terrible fear and terrible anxiety of hospitals. from the start my surgeon mr nazzar went out of his way to make it happen. he liaised with day admission unit and ward 7 and it was decided to admit me to ward 7.
I cannot thank each and every member of staff enough I cannot name them them all but from surgeons to anaesthetists doctors nurses auxiliaries cleaners each and every person went out their way to help me. just being allowed to sit and wait alone with my husband made a huge difference and I actually got the impression that the nhs treated me as an individual and not only put up with my bizarre behaviour and requests but actually went out of their way to help me.
I would just like to add that it is the anxiety that causes the difficulties and the staff really seemed to understand that. just to be allowed to sit with my husband in peace and quiet whist I recovered was so appreciated I cannot thank all the staff enough and once I recover I hope to be extremely grateful to be rid of the gallstones
