"Good and bad at Royal Preston Hospital"

Had several stays at RPH over the past couple years. Ward 20 was a lovely new ward and most of the staff were wonderful but in my opinion a lot of errors were made. I was self caring but unfortunately it didn’t seem to me that staff had time for the less able patients.

I was in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for 24hrs, again staff were lovely and looked after me very well but I unfortunately contracted MRSA in my nose either here or in theatre!!

Following this, I went to ward 10 for a brief time and was I glad it was brief! I was looked after (or in my opinion not looked after) by a nurse who was absolutely awful, her attitude stank and I don't believe she has any of the qualities I would expect in a nurse. It makes me wonder how people like this get promotion! I heard more patients talk about this particular nurse but unfortunately when you are ill you daren`t speak up. In a way the MRSA was a god send because I was moved to ward 12. Ward 12 was excellent in every way, the staff were empathetic, caring, happy, and were never too busy to give you the time of day. So thank you ward 12!
