I had my first consultation with my consultant on May 20th '17 and was fully informed of my options with regards to treatment, I was fully involved with the decision on how to treat the condition I had. I was admitted on July 24th '17 for my operation, to say I was petrified is an understatement as I'd never had any other medical problems in my 38 years of being alive (apart from giving birth 20 & 21 years ago) To say the nurses, anaesthetist and my Consultant them self put me at ease is an understatement, I was talked to and every step was fully explained. My op was successfull and the next 2 days in hospital were great, the nurses were very attentive and helpful, the hospital is immensely clean and the catering is to a high standard. After being checked by my consultant and discharged, I had my staples out successfully in the treatment room, again all the staff were wonderful and helpful. Unfortunately I was in the 5% who get infections, it was awful but I contacted the hospital and was immediately told to come to the treatment room and was dressed and given the appropriate medication, 2 days later I was seen by my Consultant and again checked and fully dressed my wound. I was offered to come back on a daily basis if necessary to have my dressings changed or to take all of the needed supplies with me (which I chose to do so) again the staff were so thorough and helpful. I was back and forth for a check up for 3 weeks and finally 5 weeks after my op got the all clear, I was so happy and so greatful to all the staff at BMI Highfield, especially my consultant. This place is a great hospital and the staff are all to a wonderful high standard and do there job impeccably. I am truly great film for all they have done for me.
