I suffered a subdural hematoma with mid line shift (bleed on the brain) in December 2015 from a fall however didn't realise until January 2016.
I was rushed by ambulance from Southend hospital to Queens to have emergency surgery on the same day.
As soon as I arrived at queens the care I received was amazing.
I was of course very scared and my consultant sat with me and my parents to tell me how severe it was and what they were going to do.
I went straight into surgery and was in there for 6 hours? The after care I received was again amazing.
The nurses on Sahara B do a brilliant job of taking care of their patients considering we all had brain surgery and needed intensive care all through the night they made sure we got that and nothing was every too much trouble.
I was in and out of queens for the most of 2016 as I had another bleed and I had to have another lot of surgery with a drain put in. But again the doctors and nurses were brilliant.
Keeping myself and my family up to date with everything that was happening.
The care from every member of staff from the consultants to the catering staff and the lovely staff who use to help me drink my tea, I just cant thank you all enough.
You saved my life literally and also made me feel reassured and kept me positive.
Thank you Sahara B and to all the staff I crossed paths with. You do a wonderful job!
"Amazing care in Sahara B ward."
