"Thank you Kettering maternity"

I am writing to both thank and compliment the maternity care provided to us during a recent stay at Kettering General Hospital. I have always felt listened to and offered the time and space to discuss any worries and concerns during my stay and during my antenatal care. I feel that my individual care needs were fully promoted which I appreciate must be very difficult with such demand on the service. The scans we received were conducted by sensitive and skilled sonographers and again this experience was always pleasant.

I spent a lot of time on Fetal Health during the later stages of pregnancy in the safe hands of the wonderful team there. I was admitted to Rowan Ward on the 04.07.2017 to start a long and enduring induction process. From the moment I was admitted I felt in safe hands. One midwife spent the later part of the week with us on consecutive days & I am truly grateful for their support during that time. Unfortunately the induction process was lengthy but by the 8th July I accessed the delivery suite and the support of the lovely midwife, student midwife and the wonderful Dr. As a first time mum this was a daunting experience but the care that I received was supportive and reassuring, I felt in safe hands. Our beautiful baby girl arrived soon after and again the care following her birth was excellent. I was re admitted to Rowan Ward following her birth, this time with care and support in relation to feeding, sleep and taking care of our new baby. The midwife looked after us again and I was so grateful for the continuity of care. The midwife support workers were wonderful, their support around feeding was invaluable and enabled me to feel confident and secure in my decisions around feeding. It is clear to me from my stay that this provision is stretched, the dedication and care offered to patients in such circumstances cannot be criticised. The staff work exceptionally hard & do a wonderful job despite the pressures they are clearly under. We feel very lucky to have had our little girl at Kettering General and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Thank you!
