Currently heavily pregnant and have had one bad experience after another with this hospital. Generally this review refers to my encounters with the staff. Customer service is so important not only to help make you feel reassured at a time when you are most fragile but also as representation of the level of care and the face of the hospital.
The nurses and staff generally just seem very disgruntled with working here. Lots of side eye and sharp tones when they talk to you. Theres no patience and they generally seemed overworked and here to just 'do a job'. I understand that the NHS are under pressure and funding is low but it really shows here at Newham.
Even the way they speak to each other infront of you rolling of eyes and patronising each other. Cleaniness is another issue noted a possible cross contamination incident that was handled rather sloppily it was the receptionist who ended up cleaning things more throughly.
Re training staff in the basic manners and in how to welcome people would help. A customer service/hospitality course maybe?
"Staff need a re training."
