So i was admitted for an operation on my shoulder on a private basis, not NHS referral, i actually paid for this. Surgeon was excellent, i don't know about the anaesthetic as i woke up with a busted, sore and swollen lip, which apparently happened due to dryness of my lip; strange because, i've been under anaesthetic twice before and never woke up with a busted lip.
Moving on, that night i was admitted so basically paid for a room and guess what, there was a mosquito biting me everywhere. Went and asked politely to the night nurses on duty and now of them said in their words 'what do you want me to do? (not a response you'd expect in a private hospital) Then i had my brother buy me a mosquito spray in the middle of the night and sprayed its in my room of admittance and finally dosed off. In the morning, the other nurse came and delivers a message from the senior nurse, and the message is, it is impossible for a mosquito to be present in any of our rooms. In other words they're calling me a liar or crazy. I requested to speak to them, they never arrived and i got discharged. I don't know why I chose to pay for private medical cover when the service by the support staff are no different to the immature service provided by the NHS.
