The staff were incredibly friendly and helped me feel at ease.
Due to waiting lists I had been offered an appointment out of my area in this service and I was thanked for making the extra travel. The nurse checked to make sure that I had a way of getting home after my appointment. The medical team of nurses and the surgeon worked very well together and were respectful of each others work.
At one point a nurse intervened to assist me to get more comfortable during the procedure and the surgeon thanked her. Me being comfortable and relaxed was helpful for everyone. I felt listened to, very well cared for and that the surgeon was not just carrying out a procedure to be reported back to another consultant, but took the time to understand why I was there to help him with the diagnostic procedure.
He explained his findings to me and what might be the next steps based on he found during the procedure. He explained how the information would be passed back to my local health service and that they would be in touch. I was given a copy of the report.
I felt looked after by this team of people and not just 'processed' through a diagnostic test. Thank you.
