"New system no good"

The surgery has recently introduced a new policy whereby patients can no longer request a telephone consultation. Patients are required to go into the surgery between 9am and 11am and request an emergency appointment, then sit and wait.

The waiting time can vary but can be up to three hours.

I had occasion to visit to request a new medication recommended by my Physiotherapist.

I had been given a two week supply and when I saw the Physio again they said that wasn't long enough and I needed to go back and request more.

This I did today.

I waited one hour just to request this medication!

If this is the way forward for the surgery, could they at least provide some comfortable chairs, bearing in mind that most people going there are unwell and quite a few elderly and/or infirm. There is a queuing system to ensure privacy at the desk, but most people tend to stand so they don't miss their turn, again this is difficult for a number of people.

The earliest appointment I could book on line was two weeks from now, far too long for someone in considerable pain. This surgery has a poor overall rating, I'm not surprised.
