I visited ward D41 today for a pre arranged appointment after spending most of 2 days in A&E. I had to be there by 11:15 when I went in there was no one at reception as they were busy which is fine however I was sent back there by a health care assistant who then came over some 5 minutes later and checked me in anyway.
I was taken into a empty ward and had my blood pressure done and asked my details the 2 healthcare assistants were lovely the nurse practitioner was rather brusque. I was then sent to have my scan .
We were then ushered into another room where upon we sat for around 1 hour. The brusque nurse practitioner came and asked to speak to me as we walked to the side room where they talked to me a person asked where the something was they abruptly told them then pulled a face at me which made me feel very uncomfortable.
When we went into the room the nurse practitioner told me the scan had shown nothing they added the ct scan I'd had the day before didn't they then shrugged their shoulders and declared there was nothing wrong with me. Without going into my illness I have suffered excruciating pain for 3 days and passed blood so as you can imagine I wasn't convinced. nurse practitioner then asked me what I wanted to do as in their words I'd wait ages for a Doctor. I advised I would be led by them as I'm not a doctor. nurse practitioner told me to sit in the waiting room and returned 5 mins later with some morphine.
I sat and discussed it with my sister there was a nurse sitting behind me and overheard and came back and said they had asked the doctor to come. The doctor who came was lovely they examined me and confirmed there is no pain without a reason they then told me what meds to take and said they would send follow up action to my doctor.
I felt like the nurse practitioner made me feel like I was lying their manner was hostile and irritable I was absolutely disgusted my daughter is a staff nurse and I would never abuse the NHS. I feel very let down by the nurse practitioners' actions and don't think it's appropriate to make any patient feel like that
"Very disrespectful and Rude Nurse Practicinet"
