After initially being reffered to houghton le springto see a surgeon I unfortunately missed my appointment due to a mix up with my mail. I have had extensive nerve conduction tests and was reffered by the consultant with bilateral moderate to severe carpal tunnel syndrome.
In the fracture clinic on friday 14th July I was informed otherwise by another consultant who said I was only diagnosed as mild to moderate.
I said that everyone I had seen said otherwise.
I told the consultant I needed my hands sorted as I was about to set up a business on my own and as a joiner of 40 years my hands being ok were essential. The consultant seemed to mock this fact saying " is this the same business you seem to have been setting up for a while" in a very condascending way. The consultant then told me to hold my hand out and touched my little finger and thumb and asked if I could feel it. I replied yes and they said that in fact I should be able to as the little finger is not affected by carpal ntunnel syndrome. ( I assume this was their ridiculous way to see if I was making up my symptons or why else would you try to catch someone out). I was given two splints and told to come back in three months. something totally irrelevant for my condition and also not even fitted to my hands.
"wrong information for carpal tunnel syndrome"
