I was brought to the hospital by ambulance following a cycling incident - the pothole won.
X-rays and a scan revealed that I had broken one elbow and fractured the other wrist. Both required fixing with surgery.
Doctors, nurses and healthcare staff were excellent.
As one can imagine I was totally dependent upon staff for cleaning, dressing, feeding and toiletry needs.
I was not local to the hospital, a situation which can be daunting, but the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient.
In these difficult days for the NHS I can only say a very big thank you to Pembury hospital for the excellent care I received in my hour of need.
I am now hoping that the administrative functions of the hospital will enable me easily to obtain discs of my x-rays and scans so that I can receive follow-up treatment closer to home.
"Excellent care in emergency situation"
