"The Infectious dis. ward at heartlands is..."

About: Heartlands Hospital / Infectious diseases

I was admitted into Heartlands hospital on the 09/02/2017 - 12/02/2017 with a case of an upper respiratory tract infection. My Gp referred me to the ambulatory care ward at the hospital;

Although we waited quite some time, it was simply worth the wait as the treatment that I received was very constant and second to none! The nurses there were lovely and respectful the doctor there said i needed to stay at the hospital as i had a very high temperature at 39 degrees severe cough...etc and it could be a bout of Atypical Pneumonia... The symptoms were all just very terrible. I was admitted into Ward 28 and the care i received for those 3 days that i stayed was amazing! At age 19 being admitted to hospital at such a young age was very daunting for me but i was reassured of all my fears and i couldn't have gotten a better service. I was seen by a plethora of junior docs/consultants there who were very caring and simply amazing. I want to say thank you to the Lead nurse at ward 28 who is just a God send.Took the time to clear me off my fear and anxiety with the odd injections etc.. as i'm never really good with needles! .

The doctor and consultant for their solicitous manner and resilience to my panic- stricken doubts and fears. I had an appt with the doctor again as they were assigned to keep track on track of my condition and I am whole heartedly saying that they are a one in a million doctor ! , could not have been more considerate and down to Earth. I am so grateful to the entire infectious dept for giving me outstanding care and it's something that's thankfully left me with good memories. Once again Thank you! :)

Dear Mareena,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your treatment at Heartlands Hospital in February 2017 and your follow-up appointment.

It is lovely to read such positive comments and I am very pleased that you had such a good patient experience.

I appreciate that it would have been a very worrying an anxious time for you, particularly at such a young age.

I shall forward your posting to the relevant senior management teams and ask that it is shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

I do hope that you have made a full recovery.

Best wishes

Jenny Langham

Patient Services Officer
